Name It
and Claim It?
Of so-called "faith and belief", some will say, "as long as you have Jesus in your heart, that's all that matters!"
Ok, perhaps the next question is, did you put Jesus in your heart on your own terms? Moreover, which "jesus" did you accept? Which "gospel flavor" pleased your appetite and was within the bounds of your comfort zone? Yea, which "gospel flavor" was a fit with your lifestyle? Did some "gospel" fit in so well that it didn't require any changes on your part? "All have sinned" and God requires repentance but no, not you, right? (wink wink) Could it be you've trusted in a lie?
Again you might exclaim, "Jesus knows my heart!" Riggggght, and that should scare you to death! Why? Perhaps you've bought into some "wishful thinking". Notice this statement... “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jer 17:9) Could it be you've got a wicked heart and don't even know it?!!! Is your heart deceiving you? Here's something to chew on... are you actually being deceived by your own heart inside of you?
